I think I’ve started a trend… Nothing wrong with being a trendsetter, but this one I’d rather not take credit for. In the past day or so I’ve had at least two of my girlfriends talk to me about relationship issues. I don’t know why I’m automatically the go-to gal for things like this, b/c I certainly don’t set a shining example. I think I’ve had enough experience, and I know myself well enough, that I know what I’m looking for and what the best course of action is in certain situations. What works for me, though, won’t necessarily work for other people. That’s the thing. Self-help books and all the well-intentioned advice in the world won’t help you if you don’t know what you want. I think the best thing I can offer is an open ear and a box of tissue. That’s what friends are for, right? Glad my drama is over at least (though, it wasn’t really that bad). On another note… there is a barcrawl in Alexandria this weekend that I plan on attending. If you’re in the area, you should most definitely join. I’ll be looking damn good, as always, and since I’m newly single again I’ll be even more entertaining than usual. |
